Come With Me to The Public Kitchen & Bar

Thursday, February 22, 2024

This is my second post for my new series reviewing different places I like around Savannah. If you missed the first post you can check it out here. Last week my husband and I went with some friends to The Public Kitchen & Bar for dinner. I wanted to share with you our experience at the restaurant and our thoughts on the food.

We had a lovely time while we were at The Public Kitchen & Bar. Sean and I had eaten there before when I graduated college and loved it, but it has been several years since then.

For dinner I had a special salmon dish they were serving that evening with a side of truffle fries. One of the things I love is that they have their gluten free options marked on their menu. Sean and I are both gluten free for medical reasons and it makes it a much better experience for us when we can quickly see what is gluten free on the menu. I was also thrilled to see they serve coffee late, so for my drink I had a cappuccino. Sean had their shrimp and grits, which I stole a couple bites of, and it was excellent. They have sweet peas in their shrimp and grits, which is a nice twist.

If you are ever visiting Savannah, The Public Kitchen & Bar should be on your list of restaurants to try. Everyone working there was so friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, and the overall atmosphere is perfect for a lovely evening out. You can see more about them on their site here. You can also see my posts about them on Instagram here and TikTok here.

Thanks for reading!
Lauren
