Azalea Season
Sunday, March 12, 2023
It is azalea season here in Savannah. I spent a lot of time downtown this weekend enjoying all of the flowers before the crowds next weekend. It was so much fun, although it rained a lot this weekend. I had coffee with my sister and a friend of mine at Café M and we also celebrated a friend's birthday this weekend with a surprise party.

Happy Wednesday everyone! A couple weeks ago my husband and I went to Charleston for the day to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary. We had such a fun time, Charleston is always so beautiful.
For our trip, I wore this dress from Kitri, a new to me brand, and I absolutely loved it. It was extremely comfortable to walk around outside all day. I also wore my old Jack Rogers sandals in the style 'Lilliana'. I purchased these a long time ago and I don't believe they make them anymore, but these have been crazy comfortable for long walking days. I reinforced them with super glue after I purchased them since I knew these were going to be used for some of my cuter outfits when travelling and walking a lot. I am impressed, they have held up great and they probably have a solid 200+ miles on them.
While in Charleston, we started the day walking by Rainbow Row and then the battery. I wanted a slightly better picture of Rainbow Row, but it was so crowded I just snapped a quick one. I was so excited, we also saw my favorite pink house in Charleston.
After walking around there for a while, we went to a coffee shop named La Patisserie and the coffee was so good. From there, we walked to Hạ Long Café and ate some of their summer rolls for lunch. From there, we walked back to the battery and sat to watch some of the boats. While we were walking, we stopped for another cup of coffee at Clerks Coffee Company. It was a nice break since the weather was starting to get bad.
Our day ended with a reservation at Husk. Sean and I both have celiac disease and they told us they could accommodate our allergy. We were not disappointed! I was able to try fried catfish for the first time. It was served with red rice and collard greens. Sean had rabbit that was served with grits. The dinner was absolutely divine. We were a little damp for the meal since it had been raining for a couple hours at this point, but I wouldn't change a thing. It was a great way to spend our anniversary.

Even thought St. Patrick's Day is a little over a month away, it is never too early to start wearing green in Savannah. It is definitely one of the biggest holidays of the year here. Everyone pulls out their brightest Kelly Green outfits and it is a ton of fun. I was so excited when I found this green set a couple months ago from Mango. I have worn it so many times and it is the perfect shade of Kelly Green.
I am still looking for the perfect outfit for St. Patrick's this year and am currently interested in this green dress (I love the floral print!) and this more simple green dress.
Let me know what everyone will be wearing in the comments below!

Happy Monday everyone! One of my favorite things to do is walk around downtown. We recently took these photos on one of the prettiest roads in Savannah, Jones Street. Jones Street has some of the most beautiful houses downtown and the oak trees and spanish moss over the road really highlight it's beauty.
I wore one of my standard work outfits with some vintage red shoes and a vintage leather handbag. It's funny, because I now buy probably 85% of my wardrobe second hand. I have such a hard time finding quality pieces that I really love when shopping regular retail. I don't want to spend money on clothes that I only kind of like. This was really prominent when I went to the mall this week. I went to several department stores and they were selling a lot of very expensive clothing that was poorly constructed. Browsing eBay, Poshmark, and local consignment stores, I have found beautiful older and more unique pieces that I love and the quality is so much better. The older I get the more important good quality has become.
I am curious what other people think about buying clothing second-hand? I grew up thrift shopping and second-hand shopping and loved it, but when I was younger I think it was looked upon poorly. With the popularity of TikTok and thrift shopping hauls, I think it has grown more popular. I'd love to hear your thoughts below!

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you are all having an excellent start to the year. Mine has been fairly busy with our house. We finally laid the quarter round after pulling it up months ago to lay new floors. The quarter round was the color of the old floors and we wanted white quarter round to match the base-boards. Instead of buying new to save money, I opted to paint all of it with the same paint from the base-boards. It feels great to have that big project out of the way!
I wanted to share today some details from my sister's pink, coffee themed graduation party. When she told me that is what she wanted, I knew it was right up my alley since pink and coffee are two of my favorite things. We opted to rent a venue on Tybee Island since it was a special occasion. My mom was in charge of food and I was in charge of decor and coffee. We asked everyone to dress on theme in pink, black, or white.
I have a fairly large collection of silver serve-ware from thrifting and antiquing over time. We used a ton of these and I found the perfect pink tablecloths at Target. I loved that they had the scalloped detailing. I also started collecting glass plates at Goodwill. We thought that would be nicer than disposable and almost as cheap. I am usually the person who throws parties so I know I will be able to use these in the future.
From left to right for the coffee portion I used a punch bowl and cups my husband found for me a few years ago. I found a matching crystal ladle off of Amazon here. A friend of ours made coffee punch for everyone and it was a huge hit! We also had these fun metallic straws.
I bought these plastic champagne coupes to make a champagne tower. I also had a pitcher of vanilla iced coffee and next to that we had the glitter pink lemonade. I made it by mixing one of the frozen lemonade packages you can get at a grocery store and adding this pink edible glitter. I served that in an antique glass and silver pitcher I found while thrifting.
My dress is an old Zara dress and my shoes can be found here. They matched the dress perfectly! Everyone had such a great time at the party and we are so proud of my sister for graduating from college. Hope you all enjoyed!
